850 t-5r
Hi all.
I have owned a 1995 Gul 850 T-5r auto saloon since it was 3 years old and kept it totally original. All of its c. 130,000 miles were done in its early years when I used it for the daily commute and as a family wagon during which time original parts were more freely available and all necessary maintenance was done with those parts. In the last few years I have only used it on high days and holidays and so wear and tear has been minimal but now is the time to replace some ageing items and in the first instance I want to look at the front end in particular brakes (pads, discs and calipers) and front shockers. The problem is that I do not really know which items to buy that are the closest to the original set-up and wondered if anybody on the forum might be able to help? Cheers in advance. Pete |

Pads and disks I would go genuine volvo
Calipers any of the recon ones available - Brake engineering - big red etc Struts Bilstein or GAZ would be my choice I would also consider fitting new springs and you will most certainly need new top mounts |

thanks classicswede. I don't think the original pads and discs are available anymore? If they are not it would be good to know what to go for that is closest to the orignal spec.
