Wobbly Seat
I've noticed when driving my seat feels, a little "wobbly". Under normal driving, the seat is perfectly fine and static, however its when I brake or accelerate the back part of the seat seems to "rock". I'm only talking a small amount maybe a few mm, but its perceptible enough to feel like its loose in some way.
Its definitely only the seat back that moves. The seat bottom and rails are secured firmly and there is no play in either of those. I appreciate that under loads, the seat will naturally react along with your weigh shifting body but the movement of the seat is very jerky and not natural. The passenger seat behaves more how I'd expect and is one of the reasons I'm now questioning whether there is an issue. I've tried adjusting all the knobs, seat bolsters and reclining positions and although they all work fine it doesn't make any difference to the "rocking" motion. At its last service the guy said he'd looked and that it was all within tolerance. Though it felt like that was just him fobbing it off as a non-issue. Have any of you guys have come across before? My car is a '14 plate V40 |

Hmm, sounds like a faulty seat. Mine is rock-steady all the time (and very comfortable!).

I think i get what you're saying. I get this on my recently bought wife's 2014 V40 (manual seats). It's barely noticeable and i'm pretty sure a woman driver will miss it (at least, my wife missed it after a 500km drive) but i know it made me check if there was a water bottle left behind the driver seat after a few high speed brakes. Come to think of it, i didn't noticed it while driving for about 300km with the seat in her position, closer to the steering wheel - i only faintly noticed it when moving the seat back (i'm a pretty tall guy )

This exactly! It feels like something knocking you in the back only slightly. My girlfriend has the seat further forward but I can still feel it happening in that position. I'm no basketball player, so I don't have the seat fully back either, but whatever position the seats in the same "rocking" appears to happen. This is why i assumed the seat back rather than say the runners?

Correction, I picked it up the next day and the problem was still there. It actually required new frame parts and the XC60 has experienced similar problems apparently. Quite annoying, as I queried it being a problem with the runners, but bowed to the senior tech's knowledge. Took me about four weeks of running back and forth to the dealer.
