Honda are a good motor, we bought an 8th Gen with a 1.4 8v Jazz engine in it. The motor was three years old with 128k on the clock. It needed a clutch and a AC condenser but apart from the battery dying it fumbled on for another four years without drama and it’s srill going now with another owner at 11yo. I’d recommend Honda anytime.

She would love a volvo, but they are way over budget. After the Fiat debacle she decided to try the smart for four as. Couple of the nurses she works with have them and they have been fine. And with the seats down have a brilliant boot space. They also turn on penny. Looks like we have yet another Friday afternoon car.

The boss lady has had a Honda 8v Jazz, CRV, diesel FRV, diesel Civic and at the moment a 1.4 vtec Jazz with a Cvt gearbox.
Well made, bullet proof mechanics never had any problems and all did big mileage. There 2.2 diesel engine is really nice for a 4 cylinder usable torque and power good on fuel 54mpg average. I've had a Honda CRV auto which did 190k before I changed it and a Nissan X-trail 2.5 petrol auto which final (gearbox failure) made way for my S80 I to would recommend Honda there not cheapest to buy or service but as they say "you only get what you pay for" Cheers Last edited by 760Simon; Feb 24th, 2018 at 22:18. Little update. We did get a courtesy car in the end, as the dealers had it for 8 weeks in total. Anyhoo its off back in tomorrow as it is running like a bag of poo. Nearly done 7 k miles now.

Anything with a Merc badge on it haven’t had a great reputation for a while now. Citroen drive me up the wall, you get a fault and the motor is with em for a month. The is what you get when you have one specialist between three dealerships, glacial diagnostics and repair. Honda, LDV and Volvo are the best I’ve ever dealt with by not having my motor longer than five days. Ok, LDV are long dead but their back up service was brilliant. My Civic at 138k dropped its clutch, Honda had it for four days and actually apologised for taking so long and that was without a booking. The attitude of some manufacturers towards their customers is appalling.
