You've got no idea how happy I am to have a C70 on the drive - I truly believe they are one of the few motors of the late90's/early to mid-2000's to have been seriously overlooked by the UK car buying public - I've managed to convince SWMBO that it isn't about the money, it is about the place in the UK automobile history of the marque.........best bit is she thinks it's the best car she's driven since 1970....but then that was my 997S Cooper Mini....but the C70 doesn't need 5* to avoid pinking!!!

I certainly wouldn't insult the guy by offering anything less than 2750 ? Unless you want to buy it to paint the wheels black with a hàlfords tin, black out the windows, change the exhaust and put a cheap and nasty touch screen hi fi in,just saying...I hope he gets what he wants for the car...good luck .

It’s not a perfect example. Being honest I would probably spend a couple of hundred with a full service etc. By this point in the year I would have normally done this myself to ensure she was tip top for the sunny season. I want to be very fair with forum members, and really I was looking for 2k, which would allow for any work to be done and not have the purchaser feel out of pocket. If I can’t get 2k for her then I’ll probably bite the bullet and take a few days off work (which I can’t really spare!) and fully service and MOT her to see if that’s a more attractive prospect for buyers. An Mot is crucial to attract buyers. Without it you are limiting the market to folks who have access to a transporter to get it home and then an unknown project to get it Mot'ed from there.

My honest opinion is car is worth less than a grand with no mot. Adding it fails through, it's worth £1500-£2500. No brainer. Get it mot and readvertise it. Buyers will have much more confidence.

Understand the attraction of the MOT to Joe public. Just looking to offer it here first at a ‘cheap’ price to members who are ordinarily more experienced to take such a car on with an open mind. I’ve transported a few times using a proper flat loader - Everyone has access to a transporter through gumtree and other classifieds offering numerous cheap options so not really a blocker, but should be factored into the purchase price. |

I suspect a trader will snap it up and it’ll be on a forecort for 3.5-4k based on autotrader! |

For what it's worth I think they are criminally undervalued. There is no need to spend more than 1.5-2k for a really decent c70 but as you say, traders dress them up and take the proverbial! Best of luck regardless what you settle on. Gbn
