Default RE: D-pillar speakers.

Hello,

I was recently doing some work on the speaker system on my Volvo 850 and discovered that the previous owner had broken one of the mountings in the front door panel. Under pressure for time I went to the Volvo dealer with the broken plastic mounting and he had a new one for me the next day for a cost of about 11euro which i think equates to about £7.60 sterling. I think that this is a small price to pay since you know that there will be no fiddling about...everything just pops straight in job done!!

L8r folks,

Colm

I know that I always bang on about scrap yards, but for an item like this, this is your best route. You will be able to get genuine Volvo speakers designed to fit in the hole and to sound right for at least half the price you would pay at Volvo.

I bought my T5 from the police and it had just 2 speakers. Have so far managed to get some new dash speakers, and am planning on fitting some 6x9's in a custom made box in the boot. My dash speakers would have been £80 odd quid at volvo, I paid £25 the pair.

I notice that you are based in Loughborough. Get yourself up to SALVO, it is just off the Nottingham ring road near to the Audi garage in the area of Basford. They specialise in just Volvo and Saab and nearly always have what I want. Alternatively, try Volsa (same marques) in Derby, I don't use them as much, so can't really comment on service/availability. Haven't got numbers to hand, but directory enquiries should be able to help.

Happy listening.

Philip
