1999 v70r me7 strange boost
As above the car has a boost gauge fitted it's a manual gearbox model in 1st its makes 7psi driving hard the makes between 10 and 14 psi in higher gears driving hard car has lost its go its nippy but no where near like it used to be any ideas

my 1st idea is MAF, as mine had that problem...
2nd idea is the turbo actuator spring wore off? or one of the connecting bolts bent or somehow changed setup, and it leaks boost? 3rd is maybe the hose between the turbo and the engine (intercooler included) leaks boost somewhere? maf is easy to check, just unplug it, and drive around, itll revert to emergency overfueling, but it'll try to use the turbo to its original setup... air leaks are easy as well, if you go around with a spray bottle around the hoses... actuator... good luck, theyre fairly cheap, but theyre straight up on the firewall |

First thing I'd check is definitely vacuum lines. Especially to the TCV. After that I would probably look at MAF, as suggested already. They are very easy to clean, which is definitely worth doing before you considering replacing it.

The car has had a replacement genuine maf today I smoke pro the intake system and found no leaks actuator and vac lines all good I scanned it today and it has no codes but has occasionally in the past has has codes relating to long term fuel trim

Seems like its been covered in the above suggestions.
Sounds like yours is re-mapped with a 1st gear limit. Personally, I'd get a smoke machine, connect it right after the MAF and test for leaks. Quick and easy. Second, adjusting the actuator is easy as well and IPD volvo has a video on it. MAF and TCV are possible culprits as mentioned above but, are easy to test/replace.

Solved
Hi that's for the suggestions the fault turned out to be both of the one way valves under the inlet manifold where stuck open and allowing boost to return to the air filter to turbo charger intake pipe replaced both and car is great
|
