I am going through with them at present. They are a joke. First they sent me to an unapproved Aviva repairer, failed to follow up. A month down the line I am still waiting

If you use a Volvo approved bodyshop then you preserve your warranty. If you don't then you don't. Was the accident your fault or not? If your insurer is paying then you have less choice. If the other party is paying the simply insist on a Volvo bodyshop and settle for nothing else.

No not my fault, I was stationary at traffic lights, bus travelling in the opposite direction ‘kissed’ my rear offside and didn’t stop. Got his number though.
@Bloke69 - are you saying the Volvo Accident Assistance is a joke? If so that’s a worry as I was going to call them in the morning.

In Doncaster the Volvo approved bodyshop is attached to the Toyota main dealer. In Hull it is attached to Hyundai. Essentially it is just a bodyshop which has been audited and approved by Volvo. It works to a certain standard as audited and inspected by Volvo. The other parties insurance company will try and shoehorn you into their approved bodyshop but just keep saying no and that it must be Volvo approved of your choice. They will eventually relent. Oh and if you have BLIS and the rear bumper needs any repair then it has to be replaced, it cannot be painted by a bodyshop. It comes pre painted from Volvo and they just fit it. It cannot be resprayed afterwards.

Just for my own info - I thought you could use a non-approved repairer with Aviva albeit with a £200 levy (which Volvo will cover via this voucher)? |

Yes, "Volvo Insurance", but they are really Kinderton.
Yes, could have used the first repairer they sent me to, but as you said there would have been extra £200 excess which defeats the purpose of using the voucher.

I would take the car value from the insurance and would buy a new one. Try to reach a deal with your insurance company.

What, for a minor scrape on a nearly new car?
