Default Adding cruise control

Is it possible / relatively straight forward for a DIY person to add cruise control to a Volvo V70 Torslanda?

Hi,
If your v70 is a 1999 model year or later a software package must be downloaded to activate this function and an indicator/cruise switch fitted, the other parts will be already fitted in production.
if it is a 98 model or older then an accessory kit is available which is fairly straightforward to fit,but neither option is cheap.

Hello Guy,

Thanks for your reply.

It is a 2002 V70, new shape. Do you, by any chance, know how I download software to the engine management system or if there are any issues relating to the driver's air bag, as the switches go on the steering wheel?

Sadly it's going to be a visit to your friendly dealership and will involve the exchange of a wad of cash (don't recall the price, but do recall deciding it was too expensive at the time). It's not a DIY job. On a 2000my (classic) the LH stalk is replaced.

You can get the trip computer set up at the same time though...

Cheers

Alastair
