Adding cruise control
Is it possible / relatively straight forward for a DIY person to add cruise control to a Volvo V70 Torslanda?

RE: Adding cruise control
Hi,
If your v70 is a 1999 model year or later a software package must be downloaded to activate this function and an indicator/cruise switch fitted, the other parts will be already fitted in production. if it is a 98 model or older then an accessory kit is available which is fairly straightforward to fit,but neither option is cheap. RE: Adding cruise control
Hello Guy,
Thanks for your reply. It is a 2002 V70, new shape. Do you, by any chance, know how I download software to the engine management system or if there are any issues relating to the driver's air bag, as the switches go on the steering wheel? Melvyn |

RE: Adding cruise control
Sadly it's going to be a visit to your friendly dealership and will involve the exchange of a wad of cash (don't recall the price, but do recall deciding it was too expensive at the time). It's not a DIY job. On a 2000my (classic) the LH stalk is replaced.
You can get the trip computer set up at the same time though... Cheers Alastair |
