Default S60 D5 Power Level

Hi all - Brand new here

In fact, I’m SO new, I don’t yet own a Volvo!!

HOWEVER - I will do soon, which brings me to my newbie question.

I’m likely going to be buying a 2006 S60 D5, but I see that there are 2 power outputs : 163bhp and 185bhp.

How do I know or find out which one it is for the car I am looking at??

Thanks in advance.

Around 2005 onward, grey engine cover could be wither 185 or 163 bhp. The 185 will be badged as a D5 whilst the 163 will be badged as 2.4D.
Pre 2005 with black engine cover is 163 bhp D5.
Grey engine cover is Euro4 with dpf & swirl flaps and non-vaccum turbo plus a few other changes.
Black engine cover is be Euro3 without dpf and swirl flaps but vacuum driven turbo control.
