Nivomats? Pressurised?
Just a techy question on the internal workings of the Nivomat shockabsorbers.
OK so they pump themselves up to the 'standard' ride height once the car is on the move, but they also seem to supply some of the initial suspension spring in their static state, judging by the force needed to try to compress them when they are off the car. How do they achieve this. Is there a coil spring in the system in each shock or under the bellows, or are the shock absorbers themselves pressurised, like gas shocks? Forget I asked this, just founfd the following link http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/pdf/nivomat.pdf very informative.
