I thought to unscrew on both sides of the metal pipe nuts to fit the new sensor. Is this correct or do I need unscrew the bottom bit of sensor and re insert the new one to avoid less leakage.

The sensor is all one part you unscrew from the pipe , I didn't quite understand what you meant ...

I meant to say from the below picture reMove the two nuts from the side and insert the whole sensor unit from breakers or remove the bottom nut of Sensor itself with 26mm deep socket and replace it.
Side nuts looks bit easy. The bottom one access is difficult, but doable. Which way you are advising and saves time with out bleeding again .[IMG] [/IMG]

oh yes , just unscrew the sensor itself like i said above , you will have to bleed the whole system if you undo the brake pipes , The sensor isn't that tight but find a spanner to go on the brake union below to pull against when undoing the sensor with your 26mm spanner or socket .

Hole at the top of the union for a crosshead screwdriver to go in to give you leverage when undoing the sensor nut

Never seen these sensors before here in North America. Are these on diesel engines ? DTSC ? Where exactly are these located on the brake lines ?

Two sensors arrived last week.
Bit before refitting I've removed both the wirings and cleaned with contact cleaner thoroughly. Cleared the fault aswell. Checked the pressure reading before sensor 1 is -.91 and sensor 2 is 1.50 . Pressure when pressure g the pedal is Sensor 1 39.72 Sensor 2 39.01 Pressure seems to be similar in both sensors. Look like there was problem in the wiring or rust at the connectors. Not sure. But the new sensors are going ti my garage shelf. If needed in the future I will use it. Thanks for all the help and new lessons learned from this forum. Thank you.

I have the same issue.
It seems to only put the light on when I brake hard. Or certain conditions like that. I dont think I have ever cleared a code on a volvo. If you fix the fault it goes away! I will check my wiring first I think, good tip! Richard |
