Are there any clear signs when looking at an engine mount, or is a case of listening carefully?

Mine 'looked' fine but on the RHS visible mount I could see the rubber starting to perish.. the battery mount looked okay on removal but there was a 'void' in the rubber, probs a manufacture defect, could only tell once out. the torque mount looked perfect but was so bendy by hand once out it was remarkable it worked at all. it could easily be pushed 40degrees off axis with my thumb!!!!! the replacement from volvo looked alughtky different with more rubber and support on 3 sides so I think they updated the design..

If they are very bad you will have significant vibration and you will see excesive motor dive on startup.. It seems the under battery mount LHS is least likely to fail.. the other two wear out quite commonly..
