I would suggest that it stays in your messages sub-menu simply because it's easy to switch it off when you start the car, or to miss it before it disappears (as it last for 30 seconds), and there might be warnings within that (such as a door that's slightly open) that don't keep warning you audibly as you drive? Just my view on the subject.

I presume there are no occupancy sensors in the back so it is based on the doors being opened. If the doors are opened it assumes someone may have got in so is telling you what belts are in use / not in use.

As in physical sensors for each seat or merely for each belt buckle?

For each seat.
When my nippers sit in the back, my XC60 tells me they are there. Of course, I've assumed it's the same for the V60.

I'll try getting in and starting up, both with and without first opening a rear door, just to see if this makes any difference to the problem.
But I don't see the logic of it. |

Certainly the P1 cars (S40/V50/C30) didn't have individual seat sensors and just bases it of the belt being in use/ not in use, but would expect the V60 and XC60 to be the same so if there are seat sensors then back to the drawing board. |

I've spent a few days giving proper attention to whether this 'phantom warning' relates to a rear door being opened shortly before starting the engine and... it does! And my 2015 V60 appears to not have rear seat occupancy sensors (but does sense if a seatbelt has been engaged).
So - although I now understand what causes this message to be generated - I still find it irritating and illogical. There is no reason for the persistence of the message! |

y 63 plate V60 often stores a message stating belts and doors. The display normally goes away very quickly after startup; however sometimes the belts and doors picture stays displayed for several seconds and is stored as a message in the menu. I don't get a warning noise or have the display go red. The car is currently in with the dealer again but they are struggling to find anything wrong. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi! Did some one solve this issue with your volvo? Because i have the same problem with mine volvo. Would be nice if you share the information |
