Default Worn wiper spindle

Screen wiper spindle as you can see is pretty worn and the wiper arm slops about. What would be the best way to fix this problem apart from the impossible task of finding and fitting new spindle. how difficult would it be to drill a small hole through and pin it? Any suggestions welcome. I'm guessing that the Amazon uses the same spindle,or perhaps not.

If it’s just the spline that’s worn, so that the arm is loose, it’s amazing what a difference a single layer of kitchen foil between the two will make.

Yes, I know it’s a bodge, but seems to work.

Hi

Drilling is no problem and you can fit small screw studs that have an allen key head to tighten up if you want to do that. I did that with mine as a temporary repair.

The cogs are an easy fit you just need to know if you have the small or large centre vesion and readily available form brookhouse or other suppliers.

I have always found the wiper mechanism to be one of the weak links, but not as bad as the old Ford popular that used to use engine vacuum to power the wipers.
