I have an original Amazon tow bar stored in my shed. Photos attached.

Looks very hom3 made to me. Back then anyone could make a tow bar and fit to their car. Not only that 3rd party manufactures had to design their own mounting system. I can remember drilling holes in the chassis to fit a Witter tow area to a Marina.

It wasn’t until the 1980s that manufacturers were made to allow 3rd party tow bar manufacturers to use their mounting points and also required the townars to be tested to a standard.
