Oil Sensor Removal
Can I remove and replace the oil sensor without fear of losing a lot of oil? I’m planning to do it when engine is cold to avoid burning my hands on the manifold !
Looking to fit an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, will the Volvo one run this or do I have to use the one that came with the gauge (which is too large for the available space)? I’ve seen references on here to 90 degree adaptors and fitting in sump but that sounds like taking it further than I want to go. Thanks |

Ray;
When engine is not running, oil gallery is not charged with pressure, so a drop or two is the most you will loose when removing Oil Pressure Sender from behind manifold...this opposed to the Oil Temp Sender Bulb, in the Oil Pan, located below the sump oil level, and which when removed is not unlike removing the sump-plug during an oil change!
