V60 EPB sticking?
Hello,
New to Volvo and new to the electronic parking brake. I have just bought a manual 2018 V60 D2 R Design NAV. When I first start the car and want to set off the EPB does not come off automatically, regardless of 1st or reverse being applied. (I do always have my seatbelt on). It does come off automatically when I apply the EPB once I have started my journey. I see in the forum that this can happen. But now I do worry that if I have to park on a properly steep hill it wont release automatically. How do I drive off without rolling backwards? Release manually and then reapply and hope it will release automatically on the second go? Does anyone have this problem? |

I noticed that too when my car (V60 manual) was brand new. Not a problem. I agree that it doesn't happen once you have set off. When you reverse from the garage try increasing the revs rather more than you normally do. Took her indoors some time to get used to it..
No problem on hillstarts...release the handbrake button and use reasonable revs...if the hill is adequately steep the car will be held by the brake for up to a couple of seconds Last edited by scbamber; Mar 22nd, 2020 at 17:10. |
