940 Idle air control valve.
The valve is not moving at any RPM. Rev counter is working. Valve operates if fed 12 volts externally. Both terminals read 12v regardless of RPM. Tickover has been obtained by moving throttle stop screw. Clues please.

940 Idle air control valve
Hi. 1977 940 2300 turbo has no tickover, it just fades away when foot removed unless throttle stop screw is misadjusted to keep butterfly open a bit. The throttle position switch is working or would do if not prevented by stop screw misadjustment. Engine runs fine.

Hi,
1977? I take it to mean 1997? What is the engine designation on the cambelt cover/housing. Should be B230FT or B230FK?? Des. . .

940 Idle air control valve
Hi. Rejoice with me because the fault has been found to be a fractured wire on the throttle position switch connector. Now cured and all well. Thanks to contributers.
