The only thing I would to is upgrade the charge pipe to the reverse intercooler piping. Its alot more efficient and if you defitnally get a 3inch downpipe

Thanks MK. Are you suggesting there is no point installing a performance intercooler? Which is the charge pipe you refer to? Thanks.

Sorry, I assume you mean charge pipe to the turbo. Is that increased diameter charge pipe normally part of a one filter inlet kit? I think I read the DO88 RIP cannot be fitted with a standard oem air filter anyway.

Well you still can install a uprated intercooler if you wanted to, No harm in that. What i did was i made my own Rip kit then installed a evo 9 Intercooler.

All in it only cost me £130

Yes the charge pipe which goes from the turbo. But you still can install a rip kit even with the standard airbox.

Thanks MK. I had started totting up what a power increase might cost, it isn’t cheap for the parts. I’ll continue with the get-well works, once they are done I’ll think some more about additional power.

When i eventually found my 855R it was a bit of a basket case but a solid car non the less with low'ish ks , over time i done the stage zero but when changing parts i went with the upgraded parts . Rad , intercooler, rip kit , intake pipe, filter, all hoses, recirculation valve and turned the rod one turn on the actuator . Bit at a time as yep it does get a bit expensive all in one hit , but each time you can notice the difference . This is on an auto .....

I think I may well do the same, Stevienix. The car is reasonably tidy, but not immaculate, but has been reliable over the last 12 months as a daily so I’m happy to put some time and effort into it. Have you had it re-mapped?
