Default Ex Police T5 Air Con/Climate Control Upgrade

Hey,

I have just recently purchased a 2007/07 Ex-Police phase 2 V70 T5.

I have installed a genuine Volvo stereo, however, I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the manual climate control/air-con control panel to the fancier one that has the temperature numbers etc..?

When I tried searching I couldn't find anything specific.

Cheers
Richard

I don't see why not.. of course perhaps the CEM will need programmed, maybe try asking this guy here, he's somewhere in Russia (or nearby) and can program modules remotely on these cars. He is on a US forum

Read somewhere on here that it’s been done and works except the fan that draws air past the thermistor never turns off.
May be worth looking at vdash to see if that can program the modules.

Smile Been there, done that

Hi! I did the thing about 2 or 3 years ago. Took me a whole day.
If you want to do it perfectly (I mean to factory standards) you have to find a second hand air distributor from a car with ECC and swap the air distributor (the big thing behind the dashboard) of your car (which has MCC) to the one which came from a car with ECC. Dashboard has to come off - of course.
After that you have to refill your air condition system.
After doing all this you need to contact Doublebug, who will hack into your CEM and modify the car config. (hacking into your CEM requires taking the CEM off the car, removing all of its contents and shorting two pins, while the hacker connects to your car's CEM using your dice. Forgot to tell you, you need a working dice to do this job).
This is the whole job.
Does it worth? I do not know. I like using the ECC. But I think there is not much difference.
I had a donor car with ECC lying around and I always wanted to have ECC... It works PERFECTLY. Even VIDA recognizes my car having ECC.
But I wouldn't do it again. Too much work And I have a lot of work to do around the house.

I dont suppose your registration is YJ07XZW, I just sold an ex police T5 silver state in the Glasgow area and if so I could tell you a lot about it!
