Well yesterday actually ... I fixed the load cover on my 1998 V70 with a repair kit off eBay UK from Peter in Hungary who makes up the necessary modified parts on his 3dprinter.

It wasn't too mind taxing to do but having done the first one anymore would be a breeze!

Success, a working cover again. Delivery takes a bit of time but I have two spare parts for sale at cost, plus P&P, here in the UK.

Same here. My passenger side mirror glass fell off today - 3 weeks after the driver's side one fell off. The adhesive clearly has a very distinct shelf life

Done a bit of a paint job on the O/S corner which had a scrape from the previous owner, won't be a perfect job but should hide the scrape and protect exposed metal at least!

Cleaned the upholstery - over 6 hours of TLC

Vacuumed, then wiped over with a damp cloth, then scrubbed every panel with a nailbrush and leather cleaner, followed by an application of leather conditioner. Looks (and smells!) much better now!

Comparison of leather before and after cleaning -

The result -

The colouring on the steering wheel is past its best but it looks and feels better now. Also vacuumed the carpets and was rewarded by finding 2x £1 coins, 1x 2p coin and a hairclip !

Todays job is to clean the door cards and interior plastics. I cleaned the switches yesterday, so all the text/symbols are white again not sticky yellow lol.

Gave my 70R it's usual 2500 mile oil change, new expansion tank and DO88 coolant hoses. Dash lights to change next via the hand up the dash method...

I love that part of buying a used car! Good find.

By the way, pictures aren't showing, at least for me...

Some of the best finds come from under the front seat runners

Didn't get a chance to spend too much time on the S70 yesterday, but I did manage to ungum and lubricate the aerial so thats working again now. Also lubed the sunrrof as that sounded like it was straining - the wind deflector pops up now as well lol.

Some of the stage 0 parts have started to arrive, I now have -

5mm ID silicon vacuum hose to replace all the perished vacuum hoses;

5/8" ID rubber heater hose to do the PCV pipe upgrade (see https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...ic.php?t=53448)

Nissens heater matrix - £38 posted vs genuine Volvo at £231 - and the Nissens part includes the foam and the 2x o-rings

The airbox is due to be delivered today, so I'll fit that one evening just to make sure I have all the rubbers etc.

I'm also waiting on more leather conditioner so that I can finish that job off.

Best using an air wrench or if not a 3/4 breaker bar
