Oil filter[s]
The bible according to St.Haynes shows how to change the oil filter on the P1 V70 as a spin on filter yet my car-first registered 1/1/2000 has the cartridge type filter did they do both versions possibly depending on year or has Haynes got it wrong?

My 98 V70 has the spin on filter, but the dealer did supply me with a cartridge type once, rather confusing laying under the car and opening the box to the wrong type , not sure when and/or if it changed and/or which engines had which type.

I think it would have generally changed around 1999-2000. My '97 V40 had the spin on type and the current 2001 the cartridge type.

That would make sense as my 98 reg 99 model year V70 has fallen between changes before, I've previously had to quote the engine number to be sure of getting the right part.

It was during the bastard years (99-00). Yet another reason they have that name, as almost nothing is compatible between -98 year cars and the bastard years.
