Default Replacing brake pads XC60 D4

Looking for advice, my rear brake pads need replacing on my 2017 XC60. Would i manage this job myself or does the electronic handbrake system prove to difficult meaning dealership visit required?

Plenty of advise about it on here.
Wind the motors back physically by removing the motors, electrically via Vida dice or 9v pp3 battery and fly leads.

Sorry, I don't know you or your abilities so cannot be definitive, however if you are any sort of a DIYer you should have no problems.

I have done both sides of my xc70 in under an hour, pads only, changing disks as well hour a side gives time for a tea break and stubborn bolts etc.

Basic hand tools will do the job but decent torque wrench for wheel bolts and caliper mounting bolts if changing disks is recommended.

Paul.

What Paul said........
With some trepidation I set out to change the rear brake pads on my daughter’s XC70. I used the PP9 battery method to wind off the handbrake as Paul did. CARE IS REQUIRED when unplugging the connector so that you don’t break the securing clips. Otherwise it was breeze for me. I’ve always serviced my own cars and if something goes wrong I deal with it and if the car is unusable for a few days then so be it. But I’m always a little apprehensive when servicing daughter’s in case something does go wrong. I really think that the transmission and diff. fluids should be changed and the Haldex unit serviced but she needs the car to be available each and every day for her work and I cannot guarantee that the car will be available when she needs it. If it were my car I would just get on and do it, but it’s not my car.
