Default Cover over windscreen sensors by rear view mirror

What is the technique for correctly fixing the cover over the windscreen sensors on a 2011 V70?

It either drops down to be totally lose, or when I can get it to stay in position it is rattling. I can't see how it is supposed to be fixed on correctly. I am 90% sure it has had a replacement windscreen before I got the car.

I tried to remove the cover on mine to remove a dead spider trapped in front of the camera, but failed. The cover just didn't want to come away. It may be that the windscreen fitter broke yours when it was removed.

PS Spider removed by a jet of pressurised air

OK, I have managed to get the cover off completely now.

The clip arrowed is broken off, fortunately the broken bit is still there so I will try some superglue and extra plastic to reattach it. It looks like it just clips onto one of the sensors attached to the windscreen. Creaks like crazy as the cover is made up of 3 parts.

The cover also pushes on a support at the front, and one on the opposite side to the main retaining clips that hold it in place. It looks like it is impossible to remove without breaking the clips to me. It 'just' pushes directly towards the screen to fix in place.

This is the part 31218532.

Hope the helps someone else.
