Cutch cable
1972 145 Right-hand Drive. Could anyone please tell me the correct (original) route that the clutch cable follows from the bulkhead to bellhousing? I don't think mine is in the correct place and neither Haynes nor the 'green book' are any help. Does it go above or below the fan when going round the front of the engine?

I assume mine is original for a 71 and has a wee hook/catch above the fan.

Just seen that I wrote Cutch instead of Clutch but can't seem to edit, oh well. Thanks Mitch, I think yours maybe correct mine goes past the steering box and between the body and the bottom hose from the radiator and then under the crank pulley.

I seem to recall all fuel injection engines and 73 MY onwards went under the bottom pully retained by 2 rubber 'P' clips on the lower two timing cover case bolts. All the others went around the top with the bracket on the thermostat housing.

For what it is worth, the up to 1972 parts manual shows the clutch cable for all RHD versions taking the high route above the fan. There were two different bracket arrangements for mounting the cable; but, from the parts manual it is not clear what the two different arrangements relate to. The parts manual does not call out differences by engine type or production number. The only parts distinction is RHD or LHD.
