Engine Remap/Tuning U.K?
Hi I've just joined this forum after just buying my first Volvo and I love it. It's a V70 T5 215bhp SE LUX, I live in the U.K not far from London and have been looking online for a decent place to get my Volvo tuned to stage 1 map but I just keep seeing slightly dodgy tuning shops that I don't know if they know too much about Volvos.
Any suggestions on any good remap/tuning in the U.K that know what they are doing on Volvo's? |

there needs to be a Fair bit of support work doing before leaping in with a re-map
you dont give the age/mileage of the car, or its service history Boost hoses > checked - probably replaced boost controller same turbo, checked etc oil to /from intercooler + pipe works + all the Basic things Correct (ie Volvo) spark plugs oils , flters etc etc etc comes under the "stage 0" description, without that "slapping a map on" will result in Either a huge bill , or a huge bill + tears

Hey so its a 2012 100k on the clock, tell you a little about my background, I'm a VW master technician that left and now specialise in electric cars, so when I bought this car a few months back I got it in the workshop and cracked out with getting it running like new. Removed intake manifold, EGR valve, all boost pipes, intercooler, cleaned all of these out like new. Bought Volvo genuine injector seal kit with retaining clamps, replaced all 5 copper seals at the bottom of the injectors and tourqed back down. Built the engine back up replacing any seals I come across. Can't change spark plugs as it's a diesel. Full service done inc. air, pollen, fuel and oil filters, new oil, brake fluid change, balanced all wheels, 4 wheel hunter alignment,
The previous owner has had a cambelt done 15k ago with a dual mass flywheel and clutch. I spoke with a friend who's is a Volvo Master tech, he said I should replace my aux belt and tensioner that runs the AC pump as these are common to snap on a D5. So doing that today. So I think I'm in a good place to get a remap done I just don't know where? |

T5 confused me into thinking its a petrol
best "remap" = bin it buy a petrol as for remapping something powered by tractor fuel im no help at all , despise that fuel platform intently and sounds like you know your spanners a Lot better than me yeps aux belt + tensioner @ the same time as cam belt /tensioner is always a good call whats the story on that engine in relation to DPF ?... they Seem to cause rather expensive issues depending on which type they have,,

Yeah I just noticed I put T5 I ment D5, I would love a T5 instead but I drive 2500 miles a month and need something that returns a slightly good fuel MPG this does 60 mpg on motorways. I haven't heard any issues with DPF filters on these cars. When that trouble arises I'll be fitting a resistor into the plug or get it mapped out.
What was the name of those guys you said about that are always busy, do you know there company names or phone number? |
