2017 V90 water running out of tailgate

Hi All,

I'm a newbie to the forum and a newbie to Volvo ownership. My V90 has developed a severe leak from the tailgate. It seems to happen every time I open the tailgate and seems worse when it been raining. The water is clear and has no smell. Water runs out of the latch mechanism and from gaps in the tailgate trim. I've attached a couple of photos.

Anybody had this problem before and know the fix.

I would take the tailgate inner trim off and try the rear screen washer to see if pipe or sray nozzle hose connector is cracked and leaking and get someone to run a water hose over tailgate while closed and you observe from inside.
