Default Squashed power steering feed pipe XC60 D5 AWD 2013

I've been investigating a slightly heavy feel to the steering on my 2013 XC60 D5 - my car has the hydro-electric steering

I happened to notice that the feed pipe from the header tank was crushed between the bottom of the driver's headlamp & what looks like part of the wiring loom.

Is this the common routing for this as it seems odd to me?

I've managed to reposition it slightly but it's still very squashed so I'm wondering if it will need replacing?

It could reform in time , there is very little pressure in there so see how it goes . Has the problem been solved? I would have thought The fluid starvation would have made the pump whine loudly ...

Pump has always been quiet but I've not put many miles on it to be fair. Repositioning the pipe hasn't made a huge difference to be honest (maybe a small one but it could be a placebo effect).

There's definitely assistance there but you sometimes feel like it's fighting to spring back - particularly holding the vehicle against camber or on longer sweeping turns. I find I get shoulder ache even from relatively short trips.

I do have what I suspect might be a creaky clock-spring (see video below) - not sure if that has any bearing on what it's doing either.

I'll see if it reshapes over the next few days. I believe there's a small filter in the reservoir tank too so I might try giving that a clean out in case any abrasion from the inside of the pipe has clogged the filter.
