Red face V is for Volvo...

... and V is for Very embarrassed! Just been doing a dummy run with fitting a a rear strap-on bike rack on my 06 XC90 and in the process managed to dislodge the 'V' on the rear 'VOLVO' badge.

Can anyone recommend the best method of re-gluing it?

I'd rather not face the humiliation of explaining this to my local dealer, not withstanding the "tut-tuts" and exaggerated accompanying bill!

Thanks in advance!

Now it's moved - why not just remove the badge completly?

Bit of fine fishing wire behind the badge with the aid of your favourite hairdryer will soon have it off.

Same way can be used to reposition. Couldn't advise what glue to use though.... would think it's rubber based. Would need to use a suitable glue or the surouding paint work may bedamaged in time by it.

Hi,

If you are determined to re-fit the V then use double sided pads - halfrauds sell them for keeping rearview mirrors fixed to screens.

You'll need to clean off the old sticky from tailgate and letter.
Then attach the new tape bit by bit to the rear of the V - trimming to fit.

Next you need work out exactly the angle of the V and distance from the O so it looks right..
