Default D5 system service required

Hi bought a 2012 v60 couple of months ago . Today it came up with engine picture and system service required. Had a look online and seems it could be a high oil level ?? Got code 097 when pushing mileage button on dash . Am I right in thinking this supports this theory? So I’m thinking do an oil change with genuine Volvo oil . My question is how much to put back in ? How much does Volvo recommend and how much less should I use ? Also will the code disappear on its own when oil level is lower or does it require deleting somehow? It’s a 2012 d5 2.4 . Many thanks for any advice

To answer half your question, look at post entitled” XC60 2012 electronic dip stick reset”.

Volvo don't make oil, they do get it put into containers with Volvo on them. So buy in your case I think a quality 0w30 fully synthetic engine oil.
