Default VVT Intake pulley

Just having the cambelt kit and water pump being done .
Mechanic has found that the intake pulley is moving ‘in and out’ when it should be ‘solid’.
Need to replace said pulley, does anyone know the part number please?
It is for my ph2 170hp 2004 V70 .

V70 SE 2.4 Auto.B5244 . VIN: YV1SW61S941422934 . Date of reg. 01/03/04 UK reg: DH 04 CWR.

We only replace the water pump at 200 000 miles, has the mechanic tested your original one before removing it from these ? Just spin it by hand before removal, if it turns smooth I would leave it there. Replace only with Aisin, GMB or Hepu. As for the VVT pulley they all have some lateral play, 1-2mm is fine, 3-4mm starts to be a lot. Hopefully your mechanic is perfectly knowledgeable on how to mark and adjust the VVT on this car or may cause more trouble, same for the cam seal it has to go at a specific position, not all the way in. But if he wants to replace the water pump at only 100 000 miles then he doesn't really know these cars. And the fact he says the pulley should have "zero" side movement tells even more

Thank you that’s great. Yes I’m sure the water pump would go on for a long while yet, I did my old 850’s at 170+ miles.
The car now is on 144,000 miles .
I’ve got an SKF one ready to go on, they are , I understand a respected manufacturer and I’ve used their parts previously with no issues, fingers crossed.

If I don’t do it now, it’s possible that I could go over the 200k before the belt needs changing again, so that’s my thinking....

Good info for the movement on the pulley, thanks for that. I fear it may be over the 5mm, but I’ll let him know.

The movement is over 5mm, so it’s going to have to be changed for peace of mind methinks. Just need to work out from where I get it.
