A very dear friend of mine whose husband has passed away has been left with a 2002 Volvo XC70 5SE AWD Geartronic with approx.113,000 miles. This has full service history up till last used. It is in excellent condition
I realise this is a difficult ask but am trying to get a general ball park figure of what it might be worth. Although it still holds sentimental feelings it is now never going to be used by her and am trying to ensure she does not get ripped off.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Regards

^^SO true^^ An up and running car is a family asset if a vehicle is needed.

Go online to a listing service to get an idea of price. Cars.com and autotrader.com are big in No. America.

The low mileage and FSH are big plusses.

One trouble is that a 2002 is seen by many as too old...sometimes too old to be worth advertising.

This car has a lot going for it so consider selling it on an enthusiasts' board like this one. It doesn't have to be a Volvo board to reach "people who know". Interested people will see it.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies and sympathetic comments. In answer to Barry forgot to list it is the diesel version. Which I guess is what the missing D refers to.
I now live 170 miles away from my friend but another friend that is local to her has recently visited her and describes the condition as immaculate. Hoping to get some photos.

If you want a quick sale sell it for £1000, but if you are in no rush you could possibly sell it for £2000

Exclamation XC70 beeps/alerts me when turning left occasionally

Hello,
I’m a newbie to both Volvo and to this forum.
On a few occasions my Xc70 has alerted me with dash ringing/beeps when I turn a left corner. It doesn’t display a light so I might know why it’s doing this or what is wrong so I’m completely in the dark to what is going on. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have lane departure warning. But what is this alert? I’m a very cautious driver so ruling out speed related issues.

Hello to you. I've visited your fine city and everyone I met, except for an obstinate opal dealer, was friendly.

1) It's a good idea to begin a new thread with your specific problem stated.
This thread regards assessing the value of a specific vehicle.

2) Always include year, specific model (which you did), mileage, time owned if bought used and any pertinent history. It helps.

3) If your XC70 is a 2000 or 2001 through 2007, it's a P2 body. 2008 starts the P3 style. I forget the official name of the 3rd generation 70 series.

See if you can recreate the warning bell. All I can think of is that a door is ajar or a micro switch in a lock mechanism is stuck or broken.
The rear hatch latch (which contains a micro switch) takes a beating. Many have fixed a erant "door open" condition by adjusting the strike a LITTLE.

Since you got no lights I suggest you check if they illuminate upon startup.
Try cocking a door open whilst driving to see if the "door ajar" lights come on.
