Default Xc60 engine stuttering in cruise

Hi all.

New to the site but need some help if at all possible.

I am in the process of buying a 2012 XC60 2.4 D3 R-Design AWD 161 BHP, Polestar upgrade, but have been informed that the engine stutters when in cruise control but ok driving normally.
I would really like the car and the wife loves it to. The dealer has been very fair and has offered to knock some money off.
Would anyone have an idea what the problem might be and is it a cheap fix or should I walk away?

Is this from a Volvo dealer or just a secondhand dealer with no affiliation to any particular marquee? I assume the latter.
My advice would be if he fixes the problem, you pay the full asking price. The dealer has obviously no idea what the fault is. Is he knocking off only what he has already added on? I personally would not buy a car with a known fault, there are still plenty of sound motors out there.
Just my opinion 😳
