Default Interior lights staying on

Hello

My interior lights are staying on even when the doors are closed.

Am I right to understand that the switch is built into the door lock actuator? If so, I guess working out which one could be tricky, and it is not something I can easily get some WD40 to?

I've turned the lights off by the switch inside the car, but my battery was drained to nothing the other day. I am guessing the red door edge lights must be staying on. Maybe removing the bulbs from all 4 door edge lights is the easiest solution to that?

Yeah you're right, usually the micro switch in the door lock assembly.
If you wait 'til it gets dark you may be able to look inside the car and see which door light is on, there are various posts on here about possible fixes...or you may find it easier to replace the lock assembly

I too have this problem with a 2005 C70 (2door cabrio)- I've replaced the near side door lock and the rear switch/tweeter housing - initially problem solved, then the problem returned 2 days later - so I rather suspect a wiring fault - with the auto rear switch turned to the off postion, the problem stops - no battery drain which reinforces the suspect the cause as a wiring fault - as yet despite several attemps I can't trace that fault to a "grounded contact" so I'm thinking it could possibley be a relay problem - it could also have something to do with a n/s front door window fault - the cable let go with a violent twang a few months back...bit like a pothole wallop with higher notes which shook the car - I've sourced a replacement window cartridge from a fellow volvoforums.org.uk member but as yet, due to family needs, I've not had the time to replace the unit.
Hoping to get to grips with it next week so will post outcome in due course
