Nah, Tannaton's right. Classic is in the eye of the beholder.

Anything Ford Cosworth from Sierra through Escort is "allowed" to be modded and still be a classic. That's because the romantic view of these cars, from those who were around to watch them being awesome but couldn't buy one Back Then, involves the addition of large wheels and huge turbos and engine tunes to take them to a billionty pee-ess-eyes.

That’s a good point actually, the cossies were one of quite a number of cars made in the 80s and 90s which were intended for people to modify... such as the RS500 having an extra bank of bigger, but unused (in factory spec) injectors (I think). I believe they were called homologation specials.

And even in older Triumph world, any TR or Spitfire/GT6 modified with Sid Hurrell (SAH) or TriumphTune parts is certainly worth more.
