Do you, or anyone else, know what ratio you need?
I have a rear axle from a 1988 240 GLT, but it was a manual - 3.31 ratio. I had this on my modified 240 for about 10,000 miles, it wasn't noisy, has new-ish backplates, and poly bushes still fitted. I only removed it to change the gearing (again) |

But high ratio for cross should be the 3.91 or 4.1 right..
What Volvo was fitted with this 3.31? Sure it isnt a 3.54? If i was close i would have happily collected your 3.31 . |

3.31 was fitted to four speed 230KH, the one with the gurgling pipes and rubbish carb.

Apologies for the late reply.
The axle has lost it's sticker with the ratio printed on it, but I checked it by comparing the number of input v output flange rotations, and I'm pretty sure it's a 3:31. If anyone is seriously interested I can check it again to confirm. I also have a 3:54, but an earlier axle without electronic speedo pick up. |
