Default Second hand HU -803 works! No coding needed!!

Hi.

Recently posted regarding passenger side speakers not working.

2003 V70.

Tried the amp under seat. Didn't solve the issue.
Replaced the head unit itself. HU-803.
Purchased this used from Ebay. Was concerned it would need coding in.
The seller assured me it would be fine.
I rang Volvo for the 4 digit code ( incase the replacement didn't work ) so at least if all else fails at least there was something working if I had to fit the old unit again.

Was told by the dealer it didn't have one.
Thought great happy days fit a used one.
Spoke to Volvo specialist who said as it didn't have a 4 digit code it was most likely software programmed so a used wouldn't work.
I also researched that it might make a sound but the display and steering wheel controls wouldn't work.

Anyway so decided just to replace the original headunit.
Fitted it ( very straight forward check youtube ) and everything works!!!
No coding required at all. Could'nt be happier!!

Because of the concerns with the coding I nearly went aftermarket.
Main reason for not doing so is lack of multi cd changers available. Obviously!!
I realise cds are now considered old tech but I don't give a **** I like them!
Would have loved a touch screen with a CD player but again it was only one disc player.
Also the single din cd players look awful and don't suit the dash.
In the end I took easy route and just replaced like for like.
I was also concerned it might not sound so good as the original unit.

I did come across an excellent website however.
Its probably already very well known on here already.
Was a company called Incartec.
Really good and laid out nicely.
They do the players but they do a kit which fits the V70 dash and with the right cables and convertor connectors to make all their head units fit the Volvo plugs etc.
Making the swap to a newer unit really easy.
I inly didn't because of cd player.
