Default XC60 Home Charging cable

Hi, I'm new to the forum so hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for a long - in excess of 20metres - home charging cable for an XC60 T8 2021. The cable supplied with the car isn't long enough for me as I have to park my car around the side of the house at night. I'm looking for a supplier who could provide a custom one as most of those I've seen on line are no more than 10 metres.
thanks in advance

Just use the granny charger, then you can just plug it into a decent quality 13amp extension cable (something that has 1.5mm size conductors would be fine)

A 20m type 2 cable would be very expensive, heavy, inflexible

I bought one from here

https://evcables.co.uk/collections/t...charging-cable

Mine was 17.5m, 32A and I have no issue to use it and put away after. I bought it specifically for my EV which is some way away from my charge point.

For holidays houses etc I always take a 25m 2.5m2 heavy duty camping extension lead, with commando plug/socket on each end. I’ve made a commando to waterproof 13A socket fly lead and also fly leads for commando to Uk and euro plugs.

Always worked perfectly with the granny charger, in any weather all over the UK and European travels.

I could have made my own with arctic 2.5m2 cable but it actually worked out cheaper to buy a ready made one

I used toughleads.co.uk when I needed an extension lead for the granny cable. They were very helpful answering questions . Quality made to order cable arrived promptly. Their website also has a lot of useful information on EV charging.

It's always best if possible to use a dedicated installed home charger, these can withstand the high sustained currents easily.
3 pin granny cables are ok but it can put quite a strain on your 3 pin plug socket. Just check from time to time that the 3 pin plug isn't getting too hot during use. Very hot is a sign that your socket is worn eg contacts worn or tarnished.
Just don't ever use a DIY store 13amp extension lead! These might be rated to 13Amps but they aren't designed to withstand continuous high current. Charging using a 3 pin granny charger can draw 9 -10 Amps.

I also used toughleads.co.uk and got a 25m EV Granny Charger weatherproof extension lead with an in-line RCD for safety. I used this prior to installation of my wall charger.
Its good quality as stated by the previous poster and I would also recommend

1.5mm technically meets the regs for 13amp but I wouldn't use it. I would go 2.5mm minimum for a continual 13amp draw....

It's not a 13amp charger, it's 10amp

It's fused at 13amps.
