I assume however we are talking of a U.K. model car here?

I did google and saw they do have D4s in other markets but not the U.K.

Interesting to note however, thanks.

The original ask is from France.
Both are Diesels which is a pity. But overall I see no point in a jacked up truck. The V90 has the space and is not compromised on handling. And that's not the boy racer stuff. When you are travelling at 70MPH on a motorway and have to swerve lanes* the V90 will do better

I am tall and have a V70 which I fit into just fine. I have looked at and sat in the V90 on occasions and found it very tight. Not sure why because according to the dimensions the height from the seat base to the roof is longer in the V90 than the V70. Maybe it's because the seat base in the V90 goes lower which if that is the case then leaves you with legs straight out and if you are tall that's a bit of a problem.

The V90 also look low but then it's 10cm lower then V70, again if you are tall you are dropping down quite a way when you get in.

So I have sort of ruled out ever changing my V70 for a V90 and for me to stick with Volvo it would have to be the XC90 but I don't need a SUV.

I also previously had a V70 and wanted to buy a V90, but in the end I changed to a BMW 5 series Touring. As you say, the V90 is very low, not the easiest to get in and out of for the "older generation" Biggest issue for me with restricted neck movement was the very low angle of the A pillar.

The v90 is very low down.

It is a lovely car. I can give direct comparison as I changed from v90 to xc.

Drive them both and you will see.

I wanted the xc for height and 4wd in the end. If my v90 had been awd I would have kept it and made do.

I made an error in my first post. My v90 was a d4 fwd.

Love the xc 90 but like I say, identical inside apart from the air vents.

Steve.

In more than 45 years of driving and many hundreds of thousand miles covered, not once have I had to perform the Moose swerve to avoid debris falling from a truck. On that basis I think I am safe to keep the XC90
V90 would not work for me, boot is shallow and too small for my needs and its too low, hence the XC90 is for some people a better choice(especially if you need 7 seats)
Can't say it drives like a jacked up truck either
