Towbars

At present I have a 2012 XC90. When I bought it I was told that you couldn't fit a towbar to an R design model. Don't know if this is true but are there any limitations on fitting towbars to the new shape XC90?

Hi,
I've had MY17 d5 r design with a towbar, and now a MY22 T8 with towbar and all fine. They just cut away a small part of whatever style rear bumper the car has depending on spec etc, so I don't think there are any restrictions at all...

I have a 2017 XC60 R Design. It's going in for the electric towabar to be fitted a week on Monday. This is a gen towbar kit with a specialist Volvo independant
