V50 Electrics : - Indicator warning light when towing

Hi, I just towed a trailer today for the first time after buying my V50, 2008 model. Before I set off, I made sure all the lights were working on the trailer.

As I drove, I noticed that whenever I used the turn indicator, no matter if it was a left or right turn, a new light would flash in the instrumentation cluster along with the normal arrow. The light is on the right side of the cluster at the top of number 15 in the linked picture.

Anyone know what this means? The indicators are working, I made sure to check them. The tow hitch and the plug are Volvo original parts, the previous owner had them installed when he bought the car from new.

The warning light is not flashing now that I've detached the trailer.

Sounds like that light is to let you know that the indicators on the trailer are working as intended.

Correct. This illuminates when a load is detected on the trailer indicator circuits (is working)

Right, thanks guys. I'm glad it isn't another issue that needs dealing with. I do have quite enough of those for the moment
