Default Recommended retailers for Volvo Parts

Could people recommend retailers for sourcing genuine volvo parts. Websites or dealers. I had a little look but might have missed any retailers the forum partners with.

I am based just inside South Wales. So Cardiff or Bristol to go and collect or just as happy to be delivered.

Admittedly it was the afternoon on Friday - but I called City Motors in Bristol - there was no longer a Volvo option on the phone system, when I got through to a department, they confirmed they don't do Volvo anymore.

So called Monmotors in Cardiff. They put me through to Audi parts department rather than Volvo and the person said they were unable to pass my call back through to the correct department. Thought was a bit inept, so gave up on them, might go back to them.

So called Weylands in Bristol, they now have the dealership in Bristol instead of City Group. They advised parts department was closed for day but would reopen Saturday morning. I asked if there was an email address I could use instead as not urgent. Was given the email address of an employee - when sent an email - got a bounce back saying that email address didn't exsist.

In the meantime .. I was wondering if people had recommendations for dealer or website where to source Volvo parts from?

Right now I am looking to replace gas struts and rubber bungs for the power assisted tailgate on my P3 V70.

Thanks in advance.

Look in the traders offers and discounts forum. FRF in Swansea are the go to Volvo dealer and not far from you. They also offer a discount for forum members.

Given the OP's frustration communicating with various dealers I'll just add, use the phone for FRF as it's the most efficient way of contacting them.

Ordered an engine undertray from Waylands, it turned up same day (ordered Monday morning) with a call to say it had arrived. Surprisingly well priced too. Likewise for a replacement from Volvo badge which was better priced than most eBay offerings.

Have tried 3/4 times to order by email or the online form from FRF in Swansea and never had a reply so I have given up on them, can’t want the custom that much if they can’t be bothered to email or call back. Others rave about them though.

On the infrequent occasions that I have needed to contact FRF I have had no problems whatsoever. As advised elsewhere, always by telephone.
