Just noticed Ed's 1962 amazon only made 348 quid on ebay, with those lovely seats as well. Great site if your looking for a bargain but can be a bit of a wash out if your looking for a return on your investment.

Depends on the car I reckon, I've never seen an 1800 purchased via e-bay that was a bargain, they are always over-bid IMHO, except for the very best examples, which fetch the right money.
Obviously the Amazon market must be different. |

With all of the wee bits and pieces I have bought recently, I'd have been much better buying a car for breaking.......

Last week I bought this scrapper from Ebay for £51.
![]() As it had no front suspension I realised it was going to be a difficult job to get it off the trailer and into my garage, so I stripped in on the trailer and took the shell to the breakers the next day where they lifted it off with their fork lift and gave me £20. Got four front wings, 2 "two door" doors, all glass, gearbox, seats, petrol tank, radiator, most trim strips, and boxes and boxes of small bits. My ebay bargain of the year!

I bought one last year for £200 and sold the rev counter alone for £230 on ebay, you gotta love the bay some times

I think a tow bar and trailer are becoming essential items to have. Did anyone buy the Ruddspeed engine that was advertised still in a car one week then minus body the next.

Yeah, I use it a lot: But you wouldn't love it when you think your buying a legitimate 1800S but are actually paying over the odds for a later car with the wrong identity on it - as I suspect someone has just done on e-bay.
Mind you that isn't strictly e-bays fault. |
