I think this is the one I bought recently

https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clar...t-low-profile/

although it's probably not the best value as such, I suppose.. I like it though because you're not pumping away at it for ages, it goes up quick, and the lifting pad has a rubber part attached which is nice, and it's a good wide circle, and it just feels really solid which is nice, there's no worrying clanking and springs twanging

plus being low profile the idea was it helps with the mini I'm building but that's a different matter entirely

downsides is the handle is quite long so you needs a bit more space, and it's a heavy old bas%@d as well so sometimes it's easier to get the older little one out and use that but it's old and goes down a bit if you leave it too long

Personally, I wouldn't touch an SGS jack: there were a few incidents with the jacks failing a few years back (and apparently their customer service is not very good).

I use a Sealey 3 ton rocket lift for my XC70... got it on offer for 140 quid on eBay. It's a bit of a monster, but better safe than sorry when dealing with jacks.

I jack my car on the front 'triangle' and put an axle stand under the subframe.

Rear is tougher as I've not really found a good way of jacking AND supporting the car without using the factory jack, and axle stand in the rear 'triangle' ( as someone else has mentioned).

I'd be interested if anyone has a better way (my jack won't fit with an adaptor on the scissor jack factory points).
