Default Xc60 2012 d5. Egr

121k on clock.Me thinks my egr needs cleaning ,had an RAC man out and he did check a lot of things after engine service light came on! He reset light but it's back. All symptoms show sticky egr valve
I live in Worksop area in North Notts.
Any advice of who would do the job correctly and approx how much money etc.
Looks a fiddly job for me to do!
Regards

I can get the egr programmed out entirely or clean it the old fashioned way.
If I clean it will it clog up again soon based on the 120k miles?
All advice appreciated. Regards

I'm no expert, but if it took 120,000 miles to clog up then it might need to do another 120,000 miles to do it again.

Having said that, it really depends upon what the cause is.

A few questions if I may....

How long have you owned the car, what annual mileage do you do, on what types of roads, and what is your driving style?

13k a year. 70% low milage trips!!
I do get chance to squirt it occasionally as traffic is heavy around here.
I've owned it 2 years. Regards
