Default Air Temperature and Cabin Temperature

Hi I hope someone can help me.
My external air temperature reads -40 permanently, and I can’t raise my cabin temperature. It just blows cold all the time, unless the fan turns really slow, then it blows lukewarm. I know it’s not ambient temperature sensor because that was tested and replaced.
About 18 months ago my widescreen leaked, I repaired that, and dried out my carpet. But I don’t know if that is connected.
My car is 2010 V70 2.0D 59’ plate.

Figure the first thing is to get some pressured liquid through the heater matrix. Flush it through. Hopefully its just sludged up.

The external temp sensor is in the passenger mirror, it may have been disconnected somehow.

A wiring diagram on vida might help. Do you have access to it?

Just so I’m sure, I’m assuming the heater matrix is part of the cooling system. And i don’t know what the Vida is.
Sorry for being a noob. I know some stuff, just don’t know all the terminology.

VIDA is the diagnostics software for the car. DiCE is the adaptor cable that connects your laptop on which you have installed VIDA to the ODB2 diagnostics socket to the right of the steering column. You can then read the fault logs in every ECU on the car. You get a less than ethical copy of VIDA when you by DiCE on the internet. There are a lot of threads on here telling you how to set up the thing. You need to run VIDA under Win7, either an actual copy of Win7 on a dedicated old laptop, or a virtual Win7 OS on a more modern machine. Set up is fiddly but if I can do it, anyone can!

The heater matrix is the part of the cooling system that provides heat to the cabin.
Simple things like low coolant could cause this issue too.
