Default Genuine Replacement Rear Silencer?

My original exhaust has finally succumbed to age, and the back box has detached itself from the pipe.

I know you can by replacements from Euro Car Parts and the like that sleeve over the pipe, but wondered if Volvo do a genuine replacement rear box rather than complete system? If so, any idea how much?

I have called my local Volvo dealer twice, but still not even had the courtesy of a reply.

It's a 2007 P2 D5 Manual

Thanks

yes they do , you might have to cut the pipe in a particular place and connect with the special stainless steel sleeve clamp.

Volvo original are eye wateringly expensive and imho are no better quality or longevity wise than a Thyssen Krupp variant from ebay. My 2001 2.4 has had a full system from this manufacturer fitted for over 7 years now & it still looks as good as the day it was fitted! Total cost in Feb. 2015 was £127.00 inc. postage.
A Backbox only today would be approx. £77.79p with free postage.

Go with a back box delete pipe, seen a load on youtube and they do make the D5 sound rather pleasing to the ears.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I liked the quietness of the car, so will be replacing the back box. I have other cars that do the noise and excitement thing.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the £77 ebay ones. I saw those, but just assumed the quality would be crap.

Any thoughts on the quality of the £77 ebay silencers compared to the ones stocked by Euro Car Parts?
