Default VIDA DICE help, please

Evening all.

After a little guidance with V/D please!!

Going through the usual diag for boost issues. I've worked my way to the turbo. I disconnected the actuator arm from the actuator today, expecting to find resistance due to clogged vanes, alas no! smooth and free as a bird. I plugged in the DICE to carry out an activation of the actuator, but nothing. No movement of the control arm, no duty cycle...

I'm assuming I'm using the right control path via DICE:

ECM > Activations > Turbo control valve dutycycle.....

Have had a look though the menus but couldn't see any activation options for the actuator.

Before I go down the route of replacing the actuator, I'd be grateful for someone's input if I'm looking in the right menus!

Thanks in advance

sometimes with these things the actual process is started by clicking on a little image, there's no obvious button

such as in this example which is for resetting gearbox adaptations but the point remains

you go to the right section, find the description, read through it, then click on the little image circled in red

the video for how he got that point is here but obviously you'd be looking at a different module

Thanks both.

Stuart I can find the adaption option, This doesn't activate the actuator either, so I've bitten the bullet and ordered a cheap used unit, hopefully this will tell me if the actuator is done for. I assume it duty cycles at key on to reset the vanes.

Simmy - I managed to get the part numbers off the old unit, they use these actuators on a lot of the Garrett fitted cars! £40 used, if it works then at least I can start saving up for a decent new one

Fingers crossed...
