Default TF80 auto boxes - holding revs off throttle?

G’day

I have two V70s, UK spec both on just over 200k miles.

2006my D5 185 6speed TF80
2007my D5 185 6speed TF80

The 07 at say 0 - 40/50mph when you lift off the throttle the revs are maintained at or near the on throttle point before slowly dropping. The 06 when you lift off the throttle the revs drop rapidly towards idle speed, picking up again once you engage the throttle again.

I’m assuming this is Torque Converter related. The 2006MY has had a replacement valve body and the software updated to the latest version at Volvo.

Wondering if this is a deliberate software function (Volvo trying to increase economy) or if there is an issue with the torque converter.

Advice or information appreciated.

Cheers

Default Hi .. or G`Day too .

I`d say the `06 is behaving normally , the `07 not .
Can`t see what the T/Converter has to do with it .
Most likely an electrical or vacuum issue.
Could be a dicky TPS ...
Any codes ? Live data would show you .

I have the same issue with my XC70 2005 MY 163hp. Throttle seems to stick at 2000 RPM, touching the brake pedal will cause it to drop, otherwise it stays at 2k. I've just got used to it but there's clearly a fault somewhere - did wonder if it's the TPS.. I have the 5 speed box

That would seem to imply a fault somwhere with vacuum system, but don't know what!
