Mistaken Identity or Unknown Prototype?
The current issue of a classic car mag (to save it's blushes I won't name it) has a reader's car item on a 1973 240 Auto Estate it describes as the earliest known example.
Well, possibly it is, but the accompanying photograph shows an L-reg estate with the large wrap-around front indicators, bumper and quarter-light equipped front doors of a 140.

Perhaps I should have been more concise in my original post. The photograph in the article showed an L-reg estate as described in the original post.
My profile picture is indeed of a Vauxhall, specifically a Garnet Starmist Victor 2300SL saloon.

If it's RHD it wouldn't be a prototype.
